Fulton County, Georgia recently added one million dollars to the annual budget of their taxpayer funded pretrial release office. Clearly, Georgia is in need of the reporting requirements offered by A Citizens Right to Know. The only true way to determine the effectiveness of pretrial service offices or other free bail options is through the reporting of their statistics. If these programs believe they are the most effective options then they should provide the data that would support their claim.
