Missouri Bail Bonds Laws May Change
COLUMBIA, MO (KBIA) - Missouri may see changes to bail bond laws this year. Legislation passed earlier this year requires the Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration to consider modifications to what is currently on the books. The DIFP sent out surveys this week to all bond agents in Missouri. The survey will let the DIFP know what the agents think of the bail bond system. It allows agents to give the department their input about different aspects of the business. Those aspects include licensing, assignment, releases and discipline. The department has yet to take any action on the changes. Department spokesman Travis Ford says once the surveys are returned, the department will know more. See the entire Story |
