In the month of May 2009, a group of experienced bail bond agents in the city of Miami got together to pursue a common objective and formed the Miami Dade Bail Associaion, Inc; a non-profit organization which main purpose is to address serious issues in the bail bond industry as well as public safety matters that have been part of bail bond agents concern over the past years.

Miami-Dade County has a great number of bail bond agents with highest integrity and ethical standards. But, there are some who cooperate with a few corrupt public servants to strip business away from legitimate bail agencies. The Miami Dade Bail Association wants to hold those public servants accountable and stop unethical business practices.

Pre-Trial Release Services is one of the major areas of concern and one of the primary issues to be addressed. The new “Citizen’s Right to Know” law in Florida calls for Pre-Trail Release services to make public their performance data. The MDBA believes this information is vital to public safety and the bail bond industry.

The MDBA officers are:
- Mrs. Consuelo Rodriguez, President
- Mr. Joe Brennan, Vice-President
- Mr. Mark Heffernan, Secretary.

Similarly, the MDBA has created a total of four committees in order to target specific areas more efficiently:
- The Pre-Trial Release Committee directed by Mr. Russ Walters
- The Corrections / Clerk Committee directed by Mr. Art Whitman
- The Public Safety Committee directed by Ms. Nidia Díaz, and
- The Membership / Revenue Committee directed by Mr. David Rodriguez.
